Today I mourn the passing of my most recent sketchbook, one filled with sketches and doodles from my recent projects. More specifically, character sketches of Demon Mirror.

After a frustrating death to trash on a video game, and subsequently losing the stylus to my DS, I dumped my class of soda off the short bookshelf I normally put it on. I had picked up my art bag at this time, and that was where two of my sketchbooks, plus a brand knew notepad, were being kept safe. Unfortunately, most of the soda dumped into that bag, though half a dozen of my favorite manga nearly suffered the same fate, mere inches from the bag when the soda took the leap.

Needless to say, my long-time friend and companion is now thoroughly soaked and completely useless, still containing the water-logged pages where I'd finally started to sketch out my graphic novel for Demon Mirror. The notebook is currently useless; I'm not sure if it's even salvagable. I'm lucky the hard-bound sketchbook that was also in the bag was in a different compartment and thus only suffered a few spots of water on the tough outer cover; none of the pages were touched.

I feel like I've lost a good friend today I can only hope I can salvage some sketches when it has dried off.

Rest in peace, my friend... You will be dearly missed.
